Most people have been exposed to Ai through generated photos, videos, ads and even music on a daily basis, TikTok itself has 3 billion Ai videos, as of July 2026.

Ai has become so advanced people are actively struggling to differentiate between real and fake, with parents getting Ai generated scam calls with their children’s voices asking for money.

We get told that Ai is supposed to help people and give us more freedom but, realistically, we are in more danger then ever before with constant manipulation of information and huge masses of water used to power Ai data centres that we don’t even need in the first place.

Data centres take up large areas of land and companies go as far as cutting down forests for data centres that end up polluting local water supply while also using almost billions of gallons of water for cooling.

Data centres not only use and pollute water, that people around the globe already have shortages of, they also pollute air and land which is more needed for survival then the latest Ai fruit video.

Humans are creative, like all creatures, and over the past one thousand years we have made architecture so intricate and carved rocks to make it look like delicate silk was draped over soft skin, created symphonies and guitar riffs that transport the listener to other dimensions and now, with the creation of Ai, people have become lazy.

People have lost the will to create and instead they are inserting prompts, which can be easily done themselves, into an Ai bot to produce an image that isn’t that good anyway.

Not to mention, humans now struggle to interact with people and are slowly losing the ability to think for themselves.

Students and teachers alike now use ai instead of teaching and figuring out a question on its own, every single one of these prompts waste water and the brains potential.

I asked a student’s opinion about Ai and they said, “sometimes I feel like using Ai is too easy, it makes me feel kind of useless sometimes because I’m not doing anything myself”.

Laziness and cutting corners are not an excuse to put the planet at risk and as a society we should limit our use of ai to minimal.

Artificial intelligence is stealing our own intelligence.
