Everyone’s Going Mad for Hatter’s Farm!
What is it?
Hatter’s farm, also known as Hatfield Park, is a primarily a pumpkin and squash wholesale supplier, but they are popular for so much more.
Hatter’s farm offer seasonal events such as a Tulip Festival in the spring and a range of Pumpkin picking and Pumpkin nights during the autumn season.
With these themed nights they provide a range of services from halloween themed face painting to food and drink including a new Pumpkin bar as well as a fire pits for roasting marshmallows to really provide this autumnal, cosy feel for their customers.
The general culture of pumpkin picking is to go and capture Pinterest worthy pictures of yourself whilst carefully choosing the perfect pumpkin to carve, whether that’s alone or with friends and family.
Due to the newfound craze of this popular spot, I took it upon myself to visit the farm with my friend Karolina, whom I later interviewed after our outing. to really gain an insight on the farm itself.
Pricing and booking
I booked the tickets online for a 10:30-10:45am time slot giving us a 15 minute window for arrival and unlimited time to explore.
For two tickets, it came to £15, making this a relatively affordable day out, however the added expenses lay within the extra activities such as the Pumpkin Cannon, Maize Maze and Face Painting, as well as costs for food and drink.
The activities ranged from £2.50 to £7, with food starting at around £8 and drinks from £2-£5.50.
The pumpkins themselves were well priced, starting at £1!
Ultimately, for a day full of food, pumpkins and themed activities, you are looking at around £20 per person.
Does it deserve the attention and hype?
The general aesthetics and decorations were done extremely well, including a giant smoking jack-o-lantern and multiple pumpkin displays which were absolutely stunning and so well done!
Paired with a wide range of pumpkins to choose from, and lovely workers who were all very helpful and welcoming, this is certainly a great pick for a day out with friends and family.
Appealing to both younger and mature customers, Hatter’s farm caters to everybody’s autumn needs with their plethora of attractions and events.
Karolina agrees with this view, stating that “It was very cute, and there was a lot of activities to do making it diverse for everyone!”, she also applauds the loaded hot chocolate available at the hot drinks stall, “It was worth the hype 100%”, of which I can personally confirm is true.
Being a short 35 minute drive from central Colchester, this pumpkin abundant experience is definitely worth your time and money this Autumn.
