DION Dublin believes Colchester United owner Robbie Cowling can afford to “stand back a bit” and trust Danny Cowley and Nicky Cowley to lead the club through any takeover and ownership speculation.
The former England striker and now media pundit has hailed the U’s management duo as one of the most established partnerships in the EFL, arguing that their record and experience should give everyone around the club confidence.
Dublin told Reviant : “I think when you’ve got Danny and Nicky Cowley at a club like Colchester United, you can stand back a bit as owners and let them do what they do best.

“I mean, as a pairing goes, they’re possibly the most famous team within the EFL and the lower leagues.
“They’ve done it all before. They did great at Lincoln. They were absolutely outstanding there.
“Back them all the way, with all their experience, and I think the players enjoy playing for them.”
Danny and Nicky Cowley arrived at Colchester with a substantial body of work behind them, most notably their success at Lincoln City.
The brothers helped transform Lincoln during their time at Sincil Bank, leading the Imps to promotion from the National League and League Two and guiding them to the FA Cup quarter-finals, as they became the first non-league club to reach the quarter-final of the FA Cup in more than a century.
They later enjoyed spells with Huddersfield Town and Portsmouth, before taking charge of the U’s.
Dublin feels their complementary partnership is a major strength, with the Cowleys’ shared experience providing stability at a time when discussion around the club has extended beyond matters on the pitch.
Ownership uncertainty can often become a distraction for players, staff and supporters, but Dublin’s message is that the Cowleys’ presence should provide reassurance.

He believes Colchester should give the brothers the backing and freedom to implement their ideas, rather than allowing off-field noise to dominate the agenda.
The U’s management team have built their reputation on detailed preparation, high-energy football and creating a close connection with their squads.
For Dublin, that combination means the players are in safe hands - and the focus can remain firmly on results and progress on the pitch.
