After gaining an NCTJ post-graduate Journalism qualification, Jon embarked on his sports journalism career at Herts and Essex Newspapers in 2001. He moved to Colchester and Essex County Newspapers in November 2005 and has been covering Colchester United home and away for nearly 20 years, for the Daily Gazette. During his time at the Gazette, he has reported on U’s promotions and relegations, new ownership, stadium moves, managerial and player change, hundreds of games…and a remarkable 7-1 opening day win at Norwich City. Away from the sports desk, Jon loves both watching and playing sport and keeping fit.
