COLCHESTER United have been taking a look at Millwall goalkeeper George Evans.
The 21-year-old shot stopper linked up with the U’s and played the opening hour of their 1-0 friendly defeat at Stevenage, on Saturday.
Evans, who signed a long-term contract with Millwall last summer, spent time on loan at National League side Hartlepool United, last season.

The young goalkeeper, who has also had a loan spell at Sutton United, has made four Championship appearances for the Lions to date, having made his senior debut for the club in their game at Blackburn Rovers in the final weeks of the 2024/25 campaign.
Colchester are on the hunt for another goalkeeper to provide competition for Tom Smith, who signed a new contract with the club this week.
Speaking after the Stevenage game, U’s boss Danny Cowley said: “It was good to have a goalkeeper in today - George Evans from Millwall.
“We’re really thankful to Millwall for letting us see him with our own eyes.
“Sometimes, it’s really good for us to be able to do that.
“It was another good opportunity to see the trialists.”

Colchester have made five new signings so far this summer, with forward Leon Chiwome their latest addition on loan from Championship side Wolves.
However, the U’s are still looking to bring in more new faces before the transfer window closes, on September 1.
“We have to keep working,” added Cowley.
“It’s slowly coming together but there’s still a lot of work to do.
“We’re working hard, we know what we want.
“We need to keep trying to add.”
