COLCHESTER United have registered their EFL squad list.
The U’s have registered 19 players in their 22-man squad, leaving them with room to add up to three free agents before the January transfer window opens.
The EFL has published the confirmed squad lists for clubs across the Championship, League One and League Two, setting out the players registered for the first half of the 2026/27 campaign.

For League Two clubs, a maximum of 22 players can be named in the squad list, with at least eight of those required to meet the EFL’s home-grown criteria.
Goalkeepers and players aged under 21 do not count towards the 22-player limit.
Colchester have therefore retained some flexibility following the closure of the summer transfer window, with three senior slots still unfilled.
That means the U’s could move for unattached players between now and the opening of the January transfer window, should they wish to bolster their options or replace any player affected by a longer-term injury.

Loan pair Moses Sesay and Leon Chiwome along with the likes of Ronnie Harvey and Milton Oni are included in Colchester’s EFL submission but are not among the 19 players occupying the available senior slots because they are under 21.
They are joined by a number of other under-21 contract players who can be available to the first team without taking up places in the main squad list.
