A mentally ill Colchester man who sexually assaulted and stalked women in the town is likely to be given a hospital order when he is sentenced later this month.

Jolomi Nanna, of Lethe Grove, Colchester was accused of three offences of stalking, three offences of sexual assault, outraging public decency, common assault and exposure.

A jury at Ipswich Crown Court was told that Nanna was mentally ill and wasn't well enough to attend court.

Because of his issues he wasn't fit to stand trial and the jury's role was to say whether or not Nanna had done the acts alleged against him.

The jury found he had committed three of the stalking offences, one of the sexual assaults, exposure and outraging public decency.

They found he hadn't committed the other offences.

Judge Nicola Talbot-Hadley said her sentencing options were limited because of Nanna's mental health problems and adjourned the case until November 17 for a psychiatric report.

It was alleged that Nanns had approached a woman as she left a shop in the city and offered to help her with her shopping.

She said goodbye to him when they got to her house but had then allegedly felt Nanna pressing his groin against her bottom.

She went into her house and Nanna had rung her doorbell continuously for 30 seconds and had allegedly indecently exposed himself to her.

He had also allegedly returned to her home a week later and she had called the police.

Nanna had also allegedly touched two women on the bottom in shops in the town and touched his groin area while asking a woman to go into a toilet block with him.

He had also allegedly approached another young woman as she got off a bus in Berechurch Road and had grabbed hold of her when she tried to walk away from him.
