COLCHESTER United's BBC Essex Senior Cup Final against Redbridge will now take place at Dagenham and Redbridge FC next week after it was switched from the JobServe Community Stadium.

The U's final against their Pitching In Isthmian League division north opponents was due to be played at the U's home ground next Tuesday but has now been moved to the Chigwell Construction Stadium, kick-off 7.45pm.

The venue for the final has been changed due to 'challenging weather conditions'.

Consideration has also been given to the U's need to complete their remaining seven League Two home matches, and to prevent future fixture difficulties for both finalists.

Colchester have had three home postponements in the space of a month, due to a waterlogged pitch.

The U's will reduce their pitch dimensions at the Community Stadium after today having an application approved by the EFL Board.

Updated match arrangements for Colchester's final against Redbridge can now be found at, which is also where tickets can still be purchased for Tuesday’s match.

Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £8 for seniors aged 65+ and under 17/18s and £2 for under 16s.

U's fans will be situated in the SD Samuels Stand (Blocks 6-8), while Redbridge supporters will be in the Jax Sun Services Stand (Blocks 1-57).

The process for the refund of tickets/parking already purchased through Colchester United FC is being formulated and will be published as soon as details have been fully confirmed.

The Essex FA say several elements of the off-pitch activities for the final have had to be amended, as a result of the venue change.

The Referee and Coach CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Workshops have been postponed. Attendees at both have been contacted relating to refunds.

In addition, the FA Cup silverware will no longer be on display at the new venue.
