BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT secured a vital 2-1 win over promotion-chasing Enfield Town to boost their Pitching In Isthmian League Premier survival hopes.

A stunning 90th-minute winner from Ollie Bell at North Road - a 30-yard strike that sailed into the net - gave the R's three vital points, after Aaron Blair had cancelled out Jake Case's opener for the visitors.

 

BRAINTREE TOWN were thrashed 4-0 at Havant and Waterlooville in their latest National League South clash.

After a goal-less first half, all of the hosts' four goals came after half-time as Manny Duku, James Roberts, Tommy Wright and Scott Rendell all netted.

Iron boss Ryan Maxwell admitted afterwards that it was a disappointing second-half display.

He said: "We really should have had complete the first half well in the lead because we had control of the game and they rarely troubled our defence.

"But you have to take the goal chances when they come such as in the first half but we didn't and we paid the price.

"I thought we battled hard in that first period and looked confident but we fell away after the interval."

MALDON AND TIPTREE'S play-off hopes suffered a blow in Pitching In Isthmian League division north after they were beaten 3-0 at home by AFC Sudbury.

HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS won 1-0 at Basildon United, thanks to Joe Claridge's penalty just before half-time.

WITHAM TOWN lost 2-1 at home to Stowmarket Town.

Reginald Thompson-Lambe and Chris Casement put the visitors in control.

And although Amaree Robinson-Jones pulled a goal back with 25 minutes remaining, it was not enough to rescue a point.

In the Essex Senior League, STANWAY ROVERS lost 3-1 at Redbridge.

FC CLACTON beat Clapton 4-0 at The Austin Arena, with Mekhi McKenzie scoring twice and Harry McDonald and Eli Ahmed also on target.

LITTLE OAKLEY were beaten after Saffron Walden grabbed a last-minute winner to claim a 2-1 victory.

Dan Rowe was on target for the Acorns, at the Memorial Ground.

 

In Thurlow Nunn League first division south, play-off chasing WIVENHOE TOWN won 2-1 at Barkingside.

The Dragons came from behind in the second half to record another important win, with Mitch Arthur and Tom Ashworth on target.

HALSTEAD TOWN were 4-2 winners over Burnham Ramblers.

Adam Hampson gave the Humbugs the lead and then headed in a second, soon after.

Calvin Poku made it 3-0 before the break and Jordan Blackwell added a fourth, early in the second half.

Burnham reduced the deficit before the end thanks to goals from Albert Galbally and Samir Ali but Halstead claimed victory.

HARWICH AND PARKESTON beat Coggeshall United 4-1, at the Royal Oak.

Joe Knight scored a hat-trick and Alfie Smith was also on target.

HOLLAND FC lost 2-1 at home to Ipswich Wanderers.
