KYREECE Lisbie will not be moving to Reading after Colchester United decided against selling one of their prize assets on transfer deadline day.
It had looked as though Lisbie might be leaving the U's before the January window closed, with the player said to be interested in moving to the League One club.
However, Colchester chose not to sanction the proposed move and the deal is now off.
Lisbie has been in fine form for the U’s this season and has been the subject of multiple offers from interested clubs, this month.
He is Colchester’s top scorer in League Two this season with 10 goals and has also provided four assists.
Why Danny Cowley will be glad when the transfer window closes
The 22-year-old attacker, the son of former U’s favourite Kevin Lisbie, has been an outstanding performer for the U’s this season.
Lisbie has started 20 league games and also made 12 substitute appearances in the league for Colchester, to date.
He has shone for Danny Cowley’s side in the 2025/26 campaign, having joined them from Brentford B on deadline day last February on a deal until the summer of 2027.
Belgian Pro League club Zulte Waregem were among the clubs also interested in Lisbie, in the transfer window.

Speaking to the Daily Gazette last week, Lisbie said: “I have the right people around me, my Dad, my agent and the message is I need to focus on the here and now.
“That’s the most important thing at the moment.
“When you start looking elsewhere and concentrating on other things, your performance starts to shift so for me, it’s about focusing on the here and now and maintaining consistent performances.
“My priority at the minute is just to help the team and impact the team in every game that I can and whatever happens, happens.”
