DANNY Cowley has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award for October.
And U’s winger Harry Anderson has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award.
Cowley is in the running for the manager’s award following Colchester’s excellent run of form, last month.
With injuries and draws aplenty in the first two months, the U's weren’t getting the results their performances merited.

That changed in October with a 6-2 win over Chesterfield, part of a 10-point haul from four unbeaten games.
In addition to that victory over the Spireites, there were also wins against Grimsby Town and Harrogate Town along with a creditable 0-0 draw at promotion-chasing Swindon Town.
Cowley is up against Shrewsbury Town’s Michael Appleton, Steve Cotterill of Cheltenham Town and Notts County boss Martin Paterson for the award.
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel is made up of former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
Anderson was in fine form for Colchester last month, resulting in him being nominated for the League Two Player of the Month prize.
Anderson’s work-rate and energy has long since brought the winger admirers.
His desire to burst forward, as he did from his own area for his hat-trick goal against Harrogate, brought him the reward of five goals in four October games.
Anderson also netted twice for Colchester in their 6-2 win over Chesterfield.

The 28-year-old is up against Shrewsbury Town centre-back Will Boyle, MK Dons and former Colchester United attacking midfielder Alex Gilbey and Alassana Jatta of Notts County, for the award.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
