Colchester United U18s beat Peterborough at Florence Park

The U's bounced back with an impressive win after a three-game losing streak.

Colchester took the lead after 11 minutes through Nadim Dagher.

But Posh hit back five minutes later thanks to Benji McWilliams Marcano's equaliser.

However, Colchester restored their lead eight minutes before half-time when Caiden Lewis scored with a volley from the edge of the box, following a corner.

At the interval, Lennox Emery replaced Daniel Banjoko for the U's who then brought on Leo Makatta and Dwayne Campino Do Vale for Donte Frank and Ryan Mombo, on the hour mark.

And Colchester made it 3-1 with 19 minutes remaining through Campino Do Vale, who curled a great effort into the net after cutting inside, following a Lewis free-kick.

The game looked all over as a contest with four minutes to go when Dagher converted a penalty for his second of the game, after he was fouled.

Posh scored another consolation soon after through Boluwatife Shofowoke who rounded the home keeper as he chased a long ball forward following a late defensive error but it was the U's day.
