FORMER Colchester United striker Freddie Sears is on the hunt for a new club.

The 34-year-old has left Dagenham and Redbridge, after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

Sears joined the Daggers in September 2023 and made 23 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring once.

In a statement, Dagenham and Redbridge said: 'Dagenham & Redbridge can confirm that Freddie Sears’ contract has been cancelled with the Club by mutual consent.

'Sears joined the Daggers in September 2023.

'Over his stint in Red and Blue, Freddie made 23 appearances in all competitions in which he scored 1 goal.

'Everyone at Dagenham & Redbridge would like to thank Freddie for his service with us, and wish him the very best for the future.'

He scored 57 times for the U's but the former West Ham United youngster was restricted to 14 league starts for the club last season, with 12 of them coming before November.
