COLCHESTER United lost 1-0 at Harrogate Town after conceding a last-goal goal, at the EnviroVent Stadium.
Jack Muldoon’s stoppage-time strike condemned the U’s to defeat, their first under Danny Cowley.
The result sees Colchester remain seven points above the League Two relegation zone.
Here are the Gazette player ratings following their cruel defeat, in North Yorkshire.
OWEN GOODMAN 6
Will be disappointed with Muldoon’s winner; had earlier made an excellent block to deny Odoh. Booked
JAYDEN RICHARDSON 8
On-loan Aberdeen defender hardly put a foot wrong at right-back and made some vital interceptions and blocks
CONNOR HALL 7
U’s captain was solid against his old club and helped contain the Harrogate attack until their stoppage-time winner
RILEY HARBOTTLE 7
Put in another competent display at centre-half and helped stifle Harrogate’s attack. Booked
ELLIS IANDOLO 7
Was neat and tidy in possession and linked up well with Anderson at times on the left flank
ALISTAIR SMITH 8
On-loan Lincoln man went close with a close-range header and was typically industrious in midfield
NOAH CHILVERS 8
U's man of the match. Was very unlucky not to score with a long-range effort that was brilliantly saved and made some important challenges
CAMERON MCGEEHAN 7
Almost scored in the first minute when denied by Belshaw on his return to the starting line-up. Booked
JAYDEN FEVRIER 6
Enjoyed plenty of his trademark dribbles and showed his skill but less effective in the second half
HARRY ANDERSON 6
On-loan Stevenage winger enjoyed a good tussle with Abu and was more of a threat in the first half
TOM HOPPER 6
Worked extremely hard for the cause as usual and enjoyed a good battle with Gibson
SUBSTITUTES
JAY MINGI (sub Fevrier, 70) 6
Made his presence felt straight away including a crunching tackle on Abu in his own half

MATT JAY (for McGeehan, 73)
