COLCHESTER United claimed a much-needed win over Salford City, on Friday night.

Goals from Joe Taylor and Chay Cooper helped the U's claim victory at the JobServe Community Stadium, despite Conor McAleny's stoppage-time strike.

Iandolo and Kazeem add a lot to the team. Not sure the Jay, Chilvers and Fevrier attacking 3 works. Would rather see Akinde start alongside Taylor to give Taylor assistance up there.

Chay Cooper again proving he needs more game time! Always looks positive when he’s on the pitch and makes things happen. Great to have @connorhall7 and @ellis_iandolo back made such a difference.

Just plain old me

Big win..drags other teams into the mix.

We were awful. They were just about as clinical as a fish in a jar. one of the most boring games I’ve watched. Nice to have injured players back hall and Dallo looked decent, jays work rate is great. Will take the 3 points but we still look seriously poor

A much needed win, but we do not seem to have any cohesion. Midfield was pretty much anonymous for the most part - we are so easy to play through. I'm not sure what the gameplan is supposed to be either. We looked better with Iandolo & Hall, but going forward, we look poor.

We were no better than previous 5 games, especially in midfield and going forward. Seemed to have very few options of passing it forward so kept going backwards. Our midfield defensively were terrible. I thought Egbo and Jay were very poor tonight. Goodman was excellent

Ben Harrison

Not pretty in the slightest but a wins a win Cooper needs more gametime shows so much enthusiasm and great composure for the goal

Shane Almond

We really needed that win! Imo Goodman and Mitchell kept us in the game and buzzing for Matt Jay and Chay Cooper tonight. Let's build on this U's!

A relief to get some defensive options back after so many unlucky long term injuries so we’re able to finally change things when needed. A big win.

Deserved win but still vulnerable. Goodman superb. Iandolo staying fit will be vital. Egbo’s indecision in possession was a real issue 1st half but he was more positive in the 2nd. Read & McGeehan always seem too far apart which affects us with & without the ball. Good to have Hall back

Take three points any day of the week. But still a lot of work on points. The players back from injury were a massive plus. However was a game where we were just slightly less poor than the poor side we were playing against.

Still lacking the cutting edge in in the final 3rd. Look very negative and clueless when going forward. But a wins a win so I'll take that!!
