COLCHESTER United were beaten 4-1 at home by Barrow, on Saturday afternoon.

The U's led through Cam McGeehan's first-half goal but George Ray's brace and own goals from Will Greenidge and Zach Mitchell resulted in defeat for the U's, who had Jayden Fevrier sent off in the 85th minute.

Here are the views of Colchester fans, following their home defeat.

The 4-1 result flattered Barrow as it sure wasn't that one sided. We had some good passages of play with good passing but once again not taking our chances in front of goal has cost us. When you round the keeper you've got to score. I'm not sure Smith in goal is good enough either. We cried out for fresh legs to come on in the 2nd half but only one substitution was disappointing.

Si Collinson

Started well and if we had taken our chances then it would have been a different game. But once again not clinical enough and stupid fouls cost us. Imploded for the last 10 to put it mildly

You can’t miss the amount of clear chances we did today and expect to get anything out of a game. Especially when you have a goalkeeper that doesn’t catch a ball between the sticks on your side. Poor from Etherington not making any changes in midfield and with Fevs on a yellow. We hold onto the ball for so long in midfield when strikers have made a run so they almost have to make 3 runs as they have to get back onside and then make the run again. So frustrating. Poor how weak the mentality is, down to 10 for 10 mins and concede 3 times! Schoolboy stuff

Tom

Very solid performance for 85mins - not really sure what went so wrong at the end! We threatened and created chances - that we must start taking. Barrow are on a strong run of form so it was good to see us go toe to toe with a strong team! Despite the result I thought we did well

Just plain old me

I don't get only 1 sub when Barrow made like 5? Including a triple one. You also got to take your opportunities

Result was harsh but only ourselves to blame. Inability to defend set pieces is a demonstration of the lack of character within the group. Rely so heavily on Read that some players pass their responsibility onto him. Greenidge had his best game. Need a higher tempo at home.

2 own goals a red card only 1 change absolutely terrible, didn't take our chances

Allen Smith

We played well for 75 minutes and played pretty good stuff but I can Exeter 2;1 defeat but four. it is a worrying trend carried on from forest green .poor free kicks bad discipline again young madness .also a lot of bad foolery on the side lines , sad gamesmanship by Barrow.

Steve Marriage

Look at Barrow. So much more incisive! Quicker, direct running at defenders. We have the talent but we need to move the ball forward much quicker. We are too slow and it’s far too easy for teams to defend against us. Garner ball v2 and it don’t work! Change it B4 it’s too late!

Smith failed to punch away decisively which lead to one of their goals ,he parried a few back to incoming attackers must do better

Discipline is a real problem for this team, whoever the head coach is. Silly fouls leading to goals and losing games due to red cards

Good the First Half and Totally and Utterly Rubbish in the 2nd Half.

I think Tovide should have come off at half time and then Bradley and also Chay should have come on, when losing surely you freshen it up?! And why oh why are we still playing it from the back? We must take our chances. On to the next game

Missing chances is the story of our season at home. With every missed chance you know what’s coming and it invariably does.

Not good enough

So typical. Started well then fell apart

Don't take chances, they will find it difficult to win the game. They have got to start taking their chances! Been like this for too long now.

How many points have we dropped from winning positions this season?
