COLCHESTER United were thrashed 5-0 at bottom club Forest Green Rovers, on Saturday afternoon.

The U's fell behind to Callum Morton's strike just before half-time and then had Jay Mingi dismissed after the midfielder was shown a second yellow card, early in the second half.

Further goals from Kyle McAllister, Matty Taylor and Matty Stevens' brace sealed the hosts' win.

Colchester fans give their verdict on a bad day for their side, at The New Lawn.

When you realise Rock bottom has a basement!

A disgrace isn’t a strong enough response to that performance. Manager promises us a reset and changes midweek only to make one unforced change. Matt Jay is being treated terribly. Keeps playing the same players who’ve let him down all season so far

Dan Mccausland

Dissatisfied. Disappointed complete and utter disgrace.. Feel for the fans that travelled to the game.. Things need to change.. looks like the fans are getting to the end of their tethers as I saw tempers flares after FT whistle today.

Matt Webb

Passing from the back football is amazing when it works. But in league 2 is likely to get us bullied. Still no Matt Jay. Why? Trying to keep the faith. Hope to see the team come together in the next league game! Come on Col U, up the U's!!

Tom

Didn’t go, thank goodness!!! Not time for Garner to go as I believe in his plans but these players need to sort themselves out immediately and start looking interested in playing for this club!!

Stuart Garrard

Dear Mr Cowling. Please keep the faith in Garner.

Doug

So obvious the issues were in midfield so, with two of the players on yellow cards, why were changes not made there? No energy, no shape, no threat and no drive, even with the excuse of ten men the capitulation was unacceptable. Desperately need a result and performance next week

Steve Duckling

I thought Garner was heading us in the right direction with the style of football we were playing & more attacking style but I feel he’s lost the players respect, for whatever reason, and he’s no longer getting the best out of them. Gills & N’ County must have been freak results

Si

Well positives first, at least it didn’t rain all game. That is all. We were out played from the off, second to everything. Tactically no adaptation after the red card. Garners post match interview will fall on deaf ears as all a waste of breath with no action.

David Clayton

Bad games & runs happen, but the big worry is the total absence of character &pride. That’s not something that can be coached. Sacking BG would be counterproductive now but he was at fault today; not subbing Mingi & then leaving the defence exposed. Pompey fans warned us about Mingi.

Jay Matthams

Whilst Garner talks a good game, it's clearly not working. Once you lose that buy in you're on shaky ground, however good you are. Definitely seems to be going that way.

Tracey Welsh

Only positive for me was that I watched it on ifollow rather than travel. Worst performance of season and got what we deserved, Morale is rock bottom - club is fragmented and there is no cohesion. Players look as though they don't care. Fourth season of mediocrity as a Us fan.

Thought it couldn't be any worse than last week, how wrong was I. Don't know what's going on but the players don't seem to want to play for Garner anymore. Why take Taylor off and why not play Cooper, he said there was going to be changes but there were only 2

Liam

Same rubbish, different season.

Adam

Absolutely pathetic, midfield wide open. It was like Forest Green was playing in a playground. Don't know what Chilvers does to deserve to get into the starting lineup week in week out. Something is seriously wrong, something needs to change quickly. We need consistency badly.

Richard Jeffries

Absolute disgrace sack Garner now

Zander

Personally I don't care if we lose 1 - 0 or 5 - 0. Still 0 points. We had another off day, but will put it right next Saturday.

Ian

As bad a performance as you could have feared. Mingis tackle was stupid especially on a yellow already, and the collapse second half was worrying. FGR were not good, but Us made them look clinical

Big Will

Dreadful once again. Open out of possession constantly and no attacking intent. Chilvers, Hall and Mingi all extremely disappointing with them all showing a lack of energy and desire to get the ball. As much as people hate him, I thought Hopper was one of the few solid performers

BigBods1

Two shambolic performances in a row is a cause for concern. We simply can’t defend. Have looked good on our day, but the last two performances are very worrying

Anthony Buckby

Funny

Anthony Clachan

Horrible abysmal shocking and a disgrace to watch anything else I can add to that really because I'm lost for words

S3

Robbie Cowling is the only constant and is responsible for the state of this club. Every decision he makes is wrong and it’s showing just how much damage that has caused.

David

sack him now.

Michael O'Brien

Only one real change. Intrigued as to what Chilvers has on Garner as he should be nowhere near this team on current form. Players not up for it, tactics wrong and Hopper would struggle to get into a Sunday pub team. Thought Garner’s press conference at the end woeful. Get him out.

Matthew Blaylock

It’s clear that the players are not motivated by the manager. Is that due to Garner’s methods or the mentality of the group?

Craig Dees

Garner promised changes after last weekend. Apart from the forced changed he only made the one!

Fred

Can’t go on like this. Every season bring in a few decent players most of them get injured then we are back to square 1. Garner not going over to the fans is criminal. When a performance like that occurs you have to go and take the criticism from the fans. Mingi, hall and chilvers
