COLCHESTER United were impressive 2-0 winners over Tranmere Rovers, on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Joe Taylor and Bradley Ihionvien secured three points, at the JobServe Community Stadium.

The win was the U's first at home this season and lifted them to 20th, in the League Two table.

Colchester fans give their views on a pleasing performance by Ben Garner's side.

Was a good well drilled display. The visitors keeper was the only one for them to come out with any credit; keeping the score respectable for them. Now we need to prove we can do it week in week out. New signing where promising. Just another key player injured to dampen the mood.

Very impressed with all the new signings, delighted for young Brad getting on the scoresheet again, shades of that Nugent goal for England when he nicked one off of Defoe! Now just hoping Read is ok

Just plain old me

Need to be more clinical in front of goal and picking the right pass. Good performance

Martyn Bell

I have to say that’s the best football I have seen in a number of seasons, not getting carried away as Tranmere were poor but great to see @ColU_Official

Great result but Tranmere are very poor. Really impressed by Mitchell & Fevrier, I think Akinde for Tovide would have been a better choice but that’s with hindsight tbf. Mansfield game is going to be interesting, that will tell us where we really are in this league.

Should've had more goals but other than that cant fault the performance a much needed and well deserved 3 points now to kick on and keep climbing the table

One of the most dominant performances in years. Some real glimpses of Garner’s influence at times. All round great attacking performance, with Fevrier a stand out. As good as we were going forward, Mitchell MOTM for me. Outstanding at the back, composed & forward thinking.

Code-Zero

A very good performance against a very poor side. I think Tranmere will go down this season based on today. Next week will give us a better idea of where we are. Taylor looks like an inspired signing and Ihionvien looks the part already. Great to see.

Best performance at home in ages everyone today was outstanding should won by about 5 or 6 but there keeper was absolutely class so we now have to take this into the Mansfield game up the U's

Taylor got man of the match, but Fevrier was on a another level and deserved it, really. The Tranmere full back had a terrible time of it, he didn't know which way to turn. "Mr February" was unplayable. Securing his signature was a great bit of business by the club.

Should've gotten a lot more goals with those shots we've had today, absolutely minted performance. Hopefully a big step towards the rest of the season

Scott

Absolutely amazing performance, every player on the pitch today had a 7/10 performance, so many contenders for MOTM, on another day we could've had 5, 6 or even 7 but we created the chances which is a great thing to see. Defence pulled their weight as well. Bring on Mansfield

Fantastic performance today, this game could of been 6-0 if we had taken our chances, looked solid at the back, Zach Mitchell looked great, we have added experience to the team we needed and felt that showed in midfield. Hopefully build on today. Tough test next week in Mansfield

Fevrier MOM, he’s turning into some player. Taylor, Tovide, Kazeem and Mitchell were outstanding too. Great performance and deserved result. Was a bit concerned at 1-0 though!

Andy Kettle

Debutants looked promising and some solid performances all across the park. Visitors keeper was unreal today and stopped it being a runaway. Shame to lose Read mid second half as was contender for MOTM for me. Happy #ColU fan today.

Kazeem, Fevrier and Mitchell all brilliant, scoreline could’ve easily been more and we looked in control all game, classy performance

Sean

Best we have played in years. The side looked like they have been together for a long time rather than thrown together. Injuries though could be a worry as the season goes on, they are starting to mount.

John S

Absolutely brilliant, fevrier was out of this world, all the subs that came on looked good to. We practice our shooting more and that’s 5/6-0 easy
