COLCHESTER United played out a 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic, on Saturday afternoon.

Noah Chilvers' deflected equaliser cancelled out Davis Keillor-Dunn's first-half opener, for the Latics.

The draw leaves Colchester two points above the relegation zone, ahead of their home clash with fellow strugglers Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.

Here are the Gazette player ratings after the U's winless run was extended to five games.

SHAMAL GEORGE 6

Had little chance with the goal and made a good late save to deny Adams in first start since January

CAMERON COXE 7

U's right-back continued from his all-action display against Hartlepool with another energetic display

LUKE CHAMBERS 6

Won his fair share of headers but was given plenty to think about by the Oldham attack

TOMMY SMITH 6

U's skipper tried his best to drive Colchester on and improved after the break

TOM DALLISON 6

Did not always look entirely comfortable at left-back but nevertheless battled hard

COLE SKUSE 7

Was his usual steady influence in midfield and battled hard for the cause

Gazette:

NOAH CHILVERS 8

U's man of the match. Deserved a bit of luck for his goal for taking responsibility and driving the team on

OWURA EDWARDS 8

On-loan Bristol City winger was full of running, skill and energy and worried the Oldham defence throughout

ALAN JUDGE 6

Tried hard to make things happen throughout on return to team and saw an effort fly just wide in the closing stages

LUKE HANNANT 6

Was unlucky to see his snap shot pushed over by keeper Rogers in the second half after recall to the team

JOHN AKINDE 5

Experienced striker had minimal influence before being withdrawn at the break but had little service
