FORMER Colchester United loanee Josh Doherty is one of six players who will be leaving Crawley Town when their contracts expire this summer.

The 25-year-old, who spent three months on loan at the U's at the end of this season, has been released by the League Two side who have today announced their retained list.

Doherty, who joined Colchester on deadline day on February 1, made five league appearances while on loan at the JobServe Community Stadium, four of which were starts.

The former Watford youngster had made 18 appearances for Crawley, earlier this season.

Doherty has been at Crawley for nearly four seasons after becoming one of Harry Kewell’s first signings in September, 2017.

Former Colchester academy product Tarryn Allarakhia (pictured above, in action against Colchester United's Ryan Clampin) has also been released by Crawley.

The midfielder joined Crawley from Colchester in the summer of 2017, where he had been on a development contract.

The 23-year-old had earlier played for Maldon and Tiptree under Steve Ball, prior to signing a development contract with Colchester in July, 2017.

Allarakhia made more than 50 appearances during his time at Crawley.

Mark Wright, David Sesay, Stuart Nelson and Joe McNerney are also leaving Crawley, who finished 12th in League Two this season.
