ANOTHER week has passed...or at least I think it has.

Every day seems to be the same as the one that has gone before it.

My FIFA skills are still lacking as it is a fight to get anywhere near the TV due to George having Dinosaur programs on a loop.

I know they are first world problems and I should not complain.

There are people out there who are really struggling and I would encourage you all to pick up the phone, check on family and friends.

But also if you are struggling then please speak out and do not bottle it up.

Now there are more grey areas than ever with regards to the way football moves forward.

France have called time on their season, Germany have delayed the decision until later this week and Spain just seem to be making lots of noise, yet no progress.

The last of the big five Leagues in Europe, both the Premier League and over in Italy are claiming they will be aiming to finish, but I feel that is more a dream than a feasible reality.

But what about where the real football is? The EFL are still planning to restart and June is being rumoured, but again that is to be taken with a pinch of salt.

The amount of different stories coming out, it is hard to really know what to believe. But one thing is for sure, clubs do know more than they are letting on, why else would clubs be digging pitches up?

So where does that leave us? All football will be behind closed doors for awhile, depending on who you believe, either for the reminder of this season, until the end of the year or even for the whole of the next season.

My guess would be the season is called off and closed doors until December and then a review.

The longer this ‘on hold' situation lasts, the longer clubs are in limbo and the ability to forward plan is removed.

Colchester United Football Club is our priority. We need to, as fans, stick by it. Yes, players have had to be released, but at the end of the day the club is in the words of the late, great Sir Bobby Robson: “What is a Club in any case?"

Not the buildings or directors or the people paid to represent it. It is not the television contacts, get out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes.

It is the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It is a small boy clambering up the stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.

We are going through hard times and the club is under enormous pressure with finances, but it is up to us to remember why we follow it and are there throughout the ups and downs.

The money may have turned to a trickle and hopefully they can think of ways to bring in revenue, live streaming games or even releasing next season's kits early. I know that I for one would be straight on the phone to place an order.

Hopefully you are all keeping safe and sound.

Fingers crossed this week brings some clarification on what the future of the season and how the EFL plans to move forward during these strange times.
