Colchester United were held to a 0-0 draw by Morecambe, on Saturday afternoon.
Kane Vincent-Young came the closest to scoring for the U's when his fine effort came back off the inside of a post, with four minutes remaining.
The draw leaves Colchester in joint third place in the League Two table, heading into their New Year's Day game with Crawley Town.
