COLCHESTER United suffered a first league home defeat since September when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Stevenage.
Rene Gilmartin's fifth-minute own goal and Danny Newton's close-range strike put the visitors in control, in the Boxing Day clash.
And although skipper Luke Prosser pulled a goal back with seven minutes remaining for the U's, it was not enough to salvage a draw for John McGreal's side in front of their biggest home crowd of the season.
Here are the Gazette ratings after the U's slipped to a surprise home loss.

A lively customer at left wing-back in the first half; provided the corner that led to Prosser goal.
