COLCHESTER United could move into the top three with a win over Swindon Town this afternoon.

But following their triumph over leaders Lincoln City, U’s head coach John McGreal feels they will have to find a different way of claiming victory against the Robins.

Colchester lie in fifth spot in League Two and go into their clash with the Robins buoyed by their impressive 1-0 win over Lincoln, last weekend.

However, boss McGreal has warned they must be switched on against a Swindon side who ended a six-game winless league run with a 2-1 success at Notts County, in their last match.

McGreal said: “We’ll need to find a different type of way of getting a valuable three points.

“They’re a good team who have got good players throughout their side and on their bench.

“At whatever level, the next game is always a tough one after you’ve beaten the league leaders so we know it’s going to be a tough game.

“It was a great performance and result but as I said after the game, it was three points.

“We’ve had to come down quite quickly to try and get the lads on the training sessions and we feel as though we’ve done that.

“We’ve analysed Swindon and it’s another home game for us to try and win.

“I know Phil (Brown) will be hurting at the minute but they got a great win last week at a little bit of a resurgent Notts County last week.

“To go there and get a win is tough as we know and they’re coming into this game on the back of that, so we know it’s going to be a tough game for us.

“He’s made changes (against Notts County) and they’ve worked for him.

“Phil’s highly experienced and he knows when to change it to get results.

“I can applaud what’s happening in this division because I do think it’s improving.”

McGreal opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation last weekend against Lincoln but insists today's game against Swindon may require a different approach.

“We’ve got one or two things we’ve been toying with so let’s wait and see," added the U's boss, who has no fresh injury worries ahead of the game.

“It was really pleasing how we adapted the shape, last week.

“I just felt against a Lincoln team that do play a different way and get the ball forward in the channels and stuff like that, reverting to a four would have been better.

“I do like the three and we’ve predominantly played that since I’ve been here.

“It’s another game and another test that Swindon will provide so we know we have to be on our guard."
