FORMER Colchester United striker Shawn McCoulsky is back in the EFL.
The 28-year-old forward, who made six appearances for the U’s in the 2021-22 season, has signed a two-year deal with League Two side Harrogate Town after leaving relegated National League outfit Maidenhead United, where he scored 18 goals this season.
McCoulsky signed for the Magpies in 2022 after leaving Colchester, going on to make nearly 150 appearances and hitting 32 goals for Alan Devonshire’s side.

McCoulsky told the Harrogate Town website: “I’m delighted, as soon as the interest came, I knew it was the right thing for me.
“I spoke to the manager about the direction the club is going in and the project here and it was definitely a no-brainer.
“Everyone I spoke to had nothing but good things to say about the club and that made my decision a lot easier.
“I want to create memories at the club and kick on, as a striker you want to help the team with your goals and I hope I can do that at Harrogate.”

McCoulsky made a total of six appearances for Colchester but did not start any games for them during his brief time at the JobServe Community Stadium.
The former Bristol City and Forest Green Rovers forward netted once for the U's, scoring on his debut in their FA Cup first-round win at Pitching In Isthmian League division north side AFC Sudbury.

Harrogate head of recruitment Lloyd Kerry told the club’s website: “He’ll add pace to the top end of the pitch, he’s a big strong lad that can affect the first ball and scored some really good goals last season that caught our eye.
“He’ll suit the way we play and presses well from the front with his pace able to put teams on the back foot.”
