COLCHESTER United playmaker Jack Payne has been named in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Season.
The 30-year-old, who returned to the U's side from injury against Salford City on Saturday, has been recognised following an outstanding first season for Colchester.
Payne has been a consistently impressive performer for Danny Cowley's side throughout the 2024-25 campaign.
He has eight goals and ten assists to his name in League Two, having made 41 league appearances for the U's after joining them on a two-year deal from divisional rivals MK Dons, last summer.
Payne has been joined in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Season by two former Colchester players.
Goalkeeper Owen Goodman, who spent a season on loan at Colchester from Premier League side Crystal Palace in the 2023-24 campaign, has enjoyed an impressive campaign with AFC Wimbledon and has been included in the team.
Ex-U's captain Connor Hall, who left Colchester to join Port Vale last summer, has also been named in the Team of the Season.
The Sky Bet League Two Team of the Season was announced at the EFL Awards, which are being held tonight at a star-studded ceremony in London.
