PETE Wild has left League Two side Barrow by mutual consent.

The 39-year-old has left Holker Street following a post-season review with the club where it became apparent the two parties had 'different perspectives on the way forward'.

Wild has just enjoyed an impressive second season in charge at Barrow, with the former Oldham Athletic and FC Halifax boss leading the club to the brink of the League Two play-offs.

A Barrow FC club statement read: 'Following a post-season review Barrow AFC can confirm that it has today parted company with their manager Pete Wild.

'It became apparent during the review that the Club and Pete had different perspectives on the way forward, so it was mutually agreed that this was the best and most appropriate way to proceed.

'We wish Pete well in his future endeavours.
