COLCHESTER United are set to seek specialist advice on Samson Tovide's ankle after the striker was forced to withdraw from his side's game at Tranmere Rovers at short notice.
Tovide had been among the substitutes for the U's game at Prenton Park on Easter Monday but was pulled out of the 18 around half an hour before kick-off, after feeling some discomfort in his ankle and was replaced on the bench by Conor Wilkinson.
Tovide has recently returned to Colchester's first-team squad from a three-month lay-off, after undergoing ankle surgery.

The 20-year-old striker, who has scored five times this season, initially suffered the injury in the U's home defeat to Crawley Town, last December.
Colchester head coach Danny Cowley said: "Samson obviously had an ankle operation.
"Part of that operation was to do a little bit of metal work to help the stability of the ankle and pin down one of the ligaments.
"Now he's started to play, that metalwork has just started to have a little bit of irritation of the soft tissue and as a consequence, he may have some slight inflammation.
"He wasn't happy in training (on Sunday) but he wanted to travel and he's obviously such an important player to us and we wanted to give him every opportunity.
"Tranmere is a very firm pitch, so the firmness of the pitch wouldn't have helped him.
"It was a very good pitch, by the way, but it didn't quite help us because in the warm up, he could still feel it.
"For us to get some support on that, some specialist help on that will benefit Samson, because he's a very, very important player to us.

"When he's come on in games, he's done very, very well and we'd have loved to have started him (against Tranmere).
"I left the Newport game on Friday thinking it would be great to get 60 minutes into Samson on Monday but it wasn't possible and that's where we're at.
"Now we have to be really intelligent with how we look after him and do our very best to try to make him available for what is a brilliant game against Wrexham, followed up by another brilliant game against Stockport."
Tovide has made two substitute appearances for Colchester since returning from injury, last month.
Th U's are hoping that he will be available for their important home clash with Wrexham, on Saturday.
