COLCHESTER'S youngest councillor has decided to stand down, prompting a possible by-election.
Molly Bloomfield was elected as a Labour representative for Greenstead in May 2022, while she was still a student at Essex University.
Now, almost two years on, the Gazette has been informed Miss Bloomfield has handed in her resignation to Colchester Council.
Bosses at Colchester Council have said a notice for the vacancy will be posted tomorrow and if nominations are received a by-election could be scheduled for May 2.
Councillor Molly Bloomfield has been approached for comment.
