Colchester are hoping to claim an important win against the promotion-chasing Hatters, as they strive to pull away from the League Two relegation zone.
U's head coach Danny Cowley said: “We’re really respectful of the job that Dave Challinor has done.
“Stockport are a huge club and now it’s great to see them moving in the right direction.
“They’ve got some really good players for this level.
“With their finances and the size of their support, there’s an expectation there, for sure and now they’re in a really good position.
“Out of all of the teams I’ve watched this season, my feeling is that they’re the best team in the division, the most rounded team, both in and out of possession.
“It’s definitely a tough game but for us, we want to be ourselves."
