SCAMMERS are targeting a Colchester-based hospice, a charity has warned.
St Helena Hospice said someone is “impersonating” the charity on social media, promoting a fake website asking for users’ credit card details.
It warned supporters on social media: “Ensure that you are only visiting pages on our official website or links that have been provided in official posts from this page.
“Please do not click on any links or answer comments or messages from [the fake] page or share any of your personal details if you are unsure.”
One follower called the scam “shocking”.
