COLCHESTER United attacking midfielder Chay Cooper has signed for National League side Hartlepool United on a short-term loan.
The 22-year-old is hoping to make his debut for Pools, who are managed by former England striker Kevin Phillips, when they host Boreham Wood tomorrow.
Cooper, who scored for the U's under-21 side in their draw with Millwall earlier this week, has made 15 appearances for Colchester so far this season.
But he has found first-team opportunities harder to come by so far, in 2024.

The attacking midfielder arrives at the Suit Direct Stadium on loan from Colchester United.
Cooper told the Hartlepool United FC website: "I'm excited to be joining the Club - it's a good opportunity for me to get some games under my belt at a good standard and progress.
"I'm feeling fit and I'm eager to show what I'm about. I can't wait to get started on Saturday."
Cooper, who started his career at Southend United, made his U's debut in the EFL Trophy against West Ham in September 2021.
The former Spurs youngster spent the second half of last season on loan at National League South side St Albans City, where he made 22 appearances and scored six times.

Cooper will link up with former Colchester duo Brennan Dickenson and Courtney Senior, who are both currently plying their trade at Victoria Park.
Hartlepool boss Kevin Phillips told the Hartlepool United FC website: “We’re glad to bring Chay into the group.
"He’s an exciting young talent who can be a threat going forward and hopefully make an instant impact to us.
"We felt it was important to bring someone in with attacking quality after our recent injuries.
"Josh Umerah and Otis Khan are out for the next few weeks, and unfortunately Anthony Mancini and Courtney Duffus have suffered slight setbacks within the last day. Chay is ready to be involved and we look forward to working with him.”
