COLCHESTER United midfielder Alex Newby's loan at Altrincham has been extended until the end of January.
The 28-year-old will remain with the National League side for longer, after the U's agreed for the deal to continue until the end of this month.
Newby's initial loan deal at Altrincham had initially been until the turn of the year, after he joined them from Colchester last September, on a temporary deal.

The former Rochdale and Barrow favourite has impressed during his time with the Robins, having scored five goals in 15 appearances to date.

He scored within five minutes of his Alty debut in their 6-1 win over Ebbsfleet United on September 23 and has started all 15 of the club's National League games since joining, along with their FA Cup tie against Oldham Athletic.
Newby, whose deal at Colchester expires in the summer, was a regular for the U's last season, scoring three goals in 34 appearances.
