PLANS to turn the dormant Debenhams site into a hub for games and activities are full steam ahead after planning bosses gave them the green light.
The latest set of blueprints detailing the full exciting vision for the former retail shop were revealed last month.
The plans were submitted by Flip Out as part of revised plans for the whole site.
Previous plans, which were first set out earlier this year, would have seen trampolines installed on the first floor and the second level used for go-karting.
However, developers say following the previous green light from planning bosses in June, “further consideration was given to the design of the proposal”.
The new application sets out plans to re-locate the go-karting track on the first floor, with the trampoline now moving onto the second.
Now, Colchester Council has once again given the plans the green light.
Here are the plans in full for each floor.
Ground floor
Heading into the site from Culver Street West, this is planned to be the Putt Putt Noodle entrance.
The mini golf site on the ground floor will be split into three courses with the themes of Tokyo Drift, Dragon Quest and Zen Garden.
There will be the already confirmed Boom Battle Bar, which typically includes a range of games such as augmented reality axe throwing and darts, shuffleboard and karaoke.
First floor
Heading up onto the first floor, which can be accessed via the pre-existing escalators, lifts or stairs, features a plethora of more exciting activities.
There is a huge zone set for the indoor go-karting track.
The go-karts will be electric as opposed to traditional petrol karts.
Also on the first floor is an area for pool tables, as well as bowling.
The bowling has been revealed to be under the Quacabowlé branding, a Mexican-themed bowling alley featuring Mexican wrestling, street art and Day of the Dead style theming.
Second floor
The final floor is littered with exciting games and activities for all ages.
There is a soft play centre, with four party rooms nearby.
Blueprints outline plans for a ninja playground and bumper cars, all on the east side of the building, behind the escalators.
Space has also been planned to be filled by a valo jump area, hoverboard arena, roller rink, and interactive football.
Rounding out the final floor is an obstacle course, trampolines and laser quest.
Colchester Council gave the revised plans the green light earlier this week.
The council has said no demolition or construction work shall take outside of weekdays from 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.
No work will take place on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
