FORMER Colchester United striker Freddie Sears has signed for National League side Dagenham and Redbridge.
The 33-year-old, who had been without a club since being released by the U's at the end of last season, has linked up with Daggers until the end of the season.

Sears, who was born in nearby Hornchurch, will wear the number 24 shirt for the East London side.

The experienced striker made nearly 200 appearances in total for the U’s, during his two spells at the JobServe Community Stadium.

He scored 57 times for the U's but was the former West Ham United youngster was restricted to 14 league starts for the club last season, with 12 of them coming before November.

Sears will link up with another popular former Colchester player Tom Eastman, at Dagenham.
