RUMOURED Colchester United target Harry McKirdy has been ruled out for a significant period of time.
Hibernian have confirmed this morning that the striker, who had recently been linked with the U’s, will undergo surgery which will leave him sidelined for ‘between four and six months’.
McKirdy requires surgery after pre-season scans by the Scottish Premiership club revealed an issue that needed further investigation by Hibs’ medical staff and doctor.
Hibs have stated that their medical team are confident that the former Swindon Town forward will return to full fitness, following his rehabilitation period.

Hibernian FC manager Lee Johnson told the club’s website: “This has come as a real shock for us all and has been a tough few days for Harry as we came to the bottom of what the scans meant.
“We’re all with him, have to rally around him and give him as much support as possible.
“We have a first-class medical department that will look after him and make sure he comes back fit and healthy.”
McKirdy played under U's head coach Ben Garner at Swindon, scoring 22 goals in 37 league starts as they reached the League Two play-offs in the 2021-22 season.
The 26-year-old’s goalscoring exploits in that campaign with Swindon led to him being named in the EFL League Two Team of the Season, along with scooping the Robins' Player of the Season award.
