THE date for Colchester United's trip to play Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup has been confirmed.
The U's will travel to the Cardiff City Stadium to play their Championship opponents in the first-round tie on Wednesday August 9, kick-off 7.45pm.
Both of Colchester's League Two fixtures against Salford City have been moved to Friday nights.
The U’s were originally due to host the Ammies on Saturday December 23, and travel to the Peninsula Stadium on Saturday January 20.

But both games have now been re-scheduled for Friday evenings.
Colchester will now host Salford at the JobServe Community Stadium on Friday December 22, 2023.
And they will visit the Peninsula Stadium for the return match on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Meanwhile, Colchester's opening two friendlies of the summer will now both have lunchtime kick offs.
The U's travel to play Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday before visiting National League outfit Ebbsfleet United seven days later, with both games kicking off at 1pm.
