FORMER Colchester United striker Luke Norris is on the lookout for a new club, this summer.

The 29-year-old is one of five players to be released by Stevenage, after they announced their retained list.

Norris made 123 appearances for Stevenage, after joining them from Colchester in January, 2021.

 

He scored a total of 37 times for the Hertfordshire side, who are preparing for life in League One following their promotion, this season.

Stevenage's retained and released list confirms the announcement Norris made on Instagram, stating he was leaving the club.

He said: "I joined when this club was in a relegation fight and will be leaving after being promoted.

"I've had a fantastic two-and-a-half years here, from winning player of the year and then finally getting my hometown promoted - that was a proud moment for me.

"The group of lads this season have been an honour to play with and the closest dressing room I have ever been involved with.

"Lastly, thank you to the fans. I'm glad we were able to give you some great days out, from beating Villa to sealing promotion into League One.

"I want to wish the club all the best for the future."

Norris made 96 appearances during his time with the U's and scored 23 goals, after joining Colchester from Swindon Town in the summer of 2018 for an undisclosed fee.
