COLCHESTER United's players continue to represent various clubs while on loan in England and Scotland.

It is a vital time of the season, with the U's loanees involved in both promotion and relegation issues, at both ends of the table.

Here's a round-up of how Colchester's loan players have got on, over the past few days.

Luke Hannant and Ryan Clampin

Luke Hannant and Ryan Clampin both featured for promotion-chasing Dundee in their 1-1 draw at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Hannant started and played for 81 minutes for the Scottish Championship leaders before being replaced, while Clampin came on as a late substitute in the away draw.

The U's left-back has been injured and his appearance against ICT was his first for the Dee since March 4.

Dundee lead the way the table by a point from second-placed Queens Park.

They host Cove Rangers, on Friday night.

Tom Eastman

Long-serving U’s defender Tom Eastman has played his part in helping Harrogate Town secure League Two safety.

The experienced centre-back was in the Sulpharites’ starting line-up for their 3-2 triumph at Newport County AFC, on Tuesday night.

It was a result that helped Simon Weaver’s side clinch their EFL place for next season.

Eastman, 31, has made 19 appearances for Harrogate since joining them on loan from Colchester, in January.

Speaking to Harrogate Town's media after the Newport game, he said: "Coming in, we were down towards the bottom as we are now and the aim was to stay up which we've done, with two games to go.

"It's a good run for the team and to be fair, other teams around us have been winning so we've had to win games, bring out big draws at times and get points on the board.

"We've managed to do that and stay up and hopefully, this club can kick on from there."

Chay Cooper

Chay Cooper is hoping to help St Albans City clinch a National League South play-off place, this weekend.

They host Farnborough on Saturday, looking to extend their season and keep their dream of reaching the fifth tier alive.

Cooper is enjoying a productive loan spell with St Albans and provided the assist for Shaun Jeffers to score an acrobatic overhead kick and equalise at Dartford.

Unfortunately for the former Spurs midfielder and the Hertfordshire side, they were on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat.

Harvey Sayer

It was another good weekend for youngster Harvey Sayer.

He helped Stowmarket Town finish the Pitching In Isthmian League division north season with a 2-0 win over ten-man Bury Town.

The U's academy defender has been performing well for the Suffolk team and making a positive impression.

Billy Cracknell

Defender Billy Cracknell has suffered relegation disappointment with Cheshunt.

The 21-year-old defender started the Ambers’ game with Worthing last night, which resulted in a 2-0 defeat and their relegation from National League South.

Gazette:

Frankie Terry

Frankie Terry is currently sidelined through injury – but his loan club Chelmsford City are gearing up for the National League South play-offs.

Chelmsford host Taunton Town this weekend, looking to finish the regular season on a high ahead of the play-offs.

Terry, in his second loan spell of the season at Chelmsford, has been making a suitable impression for the Clarets, this season.

Jake Hutchinson

Jake Hutchinson has played his part in helping Aldershot Town secure National League safety.

The Shots drew 2-2 at York City last weekend, to ensure their place in the fifth tier for next season.

Gazette:

The 20-year-old striker joined Aldershot on loan in January 2023 on a loan deal until the end of the season from Colchester.

Hutchinson will be hoping to feature in Aldershot’s final game of the season at home to Altrincham, this Saturday.
