ROCHDALE have dismissed manager Jim Bentley as the club battles to preserve its League Two status.
Bentley took over at Spotland from Robbie Stockdale in August 2022 but Dale have won just six out of 32 league games all season and sit rock bottom of the table.
Dale are ten points adrift of safety with eight games remaining, after just two wins from 21 games.
Jim McNulty has taken temporary charge at Dale, until the end of the season.
In a statement, the club said: 'Rochdale Football Club can confirm that it has parted company with First Team Manager Jim Bentley.
'Assistant Manager Nick Chadwick will also depart the club.
'We would like to place on record our thanks to Jim and Nick, and wish them every success in the future.
'Jim McNulty will take interim charge of the team until the end of the season, starting with Saturday’s game at AFC Wimbledon.'
