A RAUCOUS group of musicians who jokingly describe themselves as “the world’s greatest band” will perform at a city centre venue next month.

Dingus Khan, formed in Manningtree, will take to the stage of the historic Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, on April 29, for their eagerly-awaited headline show.

Over the course of the sure-to-be unpredictable gig, the audience can expect to experience a glorious, sweaty, sonic chaos like nothing they ever have before.

If the group’s recent comeback show at Best Days Vintage is anything to go by, for example, crowd members might also find themselves immersed in the action.

On that occasion drummer Ben Ward chucked popcorn seeds at the band’s adoring fans and singer Benjamin Brown dived into a throng of fans.

During the set the musicians will perform well-known tracks such as Made A List and Ambulance, but also their new single, My New Hat.

Speaking about the concert, starting at 7.30pm, a spokesman for the band said: “Untold glory awaits all. Secure your seat on the ship to Valhalla.”

A limited amount of tickets costing £5 are available to gig-goers on low or no incoming, otherwise the entrance fee is £10.
