COLCHESTER United's trip to play Bradford City could be played out in front of more than 20,000 fans tomorrow.

The Bantams are hoping to break the attendance record of 19,368 for a fourth-tier game at Valley Parade set against Doncaster Rovers on the opening day of the season, when they host the U's.

Bradford are hoping to boost their League Two promotion push this weekend, with Mark Hughes' side sitting four points off the automatic promotion places.

The Bantams head into the U's match on the back of two successive wins and former Manchester City and QPR boss Hughes is urging his team to kick on.

Hughes said: “It’s going to be a huge crowd.

"We’re over 19,000, as we speak, and it would be great to get to 20,000 if we could.

“That’s a huge effort from everybody so let’s make it a day to remember.

“We’ve had a couple of false dawns. I don’t like that phrase but it’s probably apt and we have to realise that.

“I just sense we’re in a place now where we can really kick on.

“We’ve done okay in some home games and clearly less so in others.

“But it’s a huge opportunity and we recognise that. We’re at a point of the season where we’ve got to go full pelt.

“Just empty our tanks and give everything and take everybody with us.

"The last two away games have been great, physically and technically, and I’m really pleased with what we’re producing.”

Bradford will check on the fitness of Jamie Walker, ahead of the game.

He picked up a calf injury in the Bantams' midweek win at Gillingham, with Harry Chapman standing by to replace him in the number ten role.
