PROMISING young Colchester United striker Jake Hutchinson has sealed a loan move to National League side Aldershot Town until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has been on loan at National League South outfit Eastbourne Borough in the first half of the campaign, scoring 14 goals in all competitions.

Hutchinson could make his Shots debut in their home game with league leaders Notts County, on Saturday.

ย

U's loan manager Richard Hall told the club's website: "Jake has once again proved that he can score goals at the level he has gone to, and deserves his chance to play at the next level now.

"We want to thank Eastbourne Borough for giving Jake the opportunities to develop his game further, and wish them the best of luck for the remainder of the season.

"We also want to wish Jake himself all the best for this next chapter in his young career."

Hutchinson, who was involved with the U's first-team squad in pre-season, had a successful loan at Hitchin Town, last season.

ย

Hutchinson moved to Colchester from Brighton and Hove Albion and steadily improved his standing at the U's throughout his apprenticeship before progressing to the club's under-23 side.

He has gained experience of menโ€™s football via loan spells with Tonbridge Angels, Grays Athletic, Brightlingsea Regent and Hitchin Town.

โ€œI wish him all the very best in the next stage of his development.
