FORMER Colchester United right-back Ryan Jackson is staying in League One after joining Cheltenham Town.
The 31-year-old was on the lookout for a new club, after leaving Gillingham at the end of last season.
And he has now secured a one-year deal with Cheltenham, who are preparing for a second successive season in the third tier.
Jackson told the Cheltenham website: "I'm delighted to sign. There's a short space of time until the season starts, but I'm really looking forward to getting started.
"I feel like my experience can help the team and contribute to winning games, but this season is a challenge I'm looking forward to taking on."

Jackson spent three seasons with Colchester, having joined them from the Gills in the summer of 2017.
The experienced full-back made 140 appearances in all competitions for the U's, helping them reach the League Two play-offs under John McGreal in 2020.
Jackson made 37 appearances for Gillingham last season, as they were relegated from League One following defeat to Rotherham United on the final day of the campaign.
In total, he made 88 league and cup appearances in his second spell for Gillingham since joining them from Colchester in the summer of 2020.
Jackson is Cheltenham's sixth signing after Tom Bradbury, Dan Adshead, Dan Nlundulu, Shaun MacDonald and Taylor Perry also joined them, this summer.
