COLCHESTER United have made their first three signings of the summer.

Alex Newby arrived from Rochdale and Bradford City goalkeeper Sam Hornby signed for an undisclosed fee, both on two-year deals.

Midfielder Emyr Huws also re-signed for the U's on a one-year deal, following a short-term deal with the club last season.

Colchester supporters have their say on their club's summer business, so far.

It’s a solid start an attacking midfielder definitely was needed but 2 was here last season and the squad last year wasn’t good enough so we need more NEW faces in the door let’s hope it’s the start of a few more

Happy with that! Still think we to do more business as others have said I think I fear we will lose Shamal before to long without him last season we would have been dead and buried. Looking forward to the new season now

Pleased with them. Newby has a good record for a CAM. We’ll see how good the signings are in relation to sales. ie Newby is a very good addition but not as a replacement for Chilvers if he were to be sold.

Tom Flint

3 great signings! As the season went on Huws was getting better and better. Hornby will provide very tough competition for Sham. Plus both know the club already and will settle quickly.

Newby sounds like the creative player we need alongside Chilvers to create the goals!

Happy with the signings! Think Huws and Hornby were very solid last season, and Huws was a key component of the turnaround. Newby looks like an exciting addition.

Si Collinson

All said and done, happy with these three. Two have shown what they can produce and Newby is a decent addition.

All look sensible. I suspect Hornby’s addition will mean Shamal leaves in the January window.

Very happy with Sam as backup keeper Alex look's like hopefully a exciting player and Emyr I'm pleased with as well so overall quite pleased with the signings
