A MUM has continued her eggs-travegent decorative traditions... and decked out her house big-time to celebrate Easter.

Joanne Smith, from Sible Hedingham, loves decorating her home for public holidays throughout the year.

In total, over the years, Joanne has spent about £35,000 on decorations, and last Christmas, she spent no less than £6,000... covering her house in festive ornaments, tinsel, and other seasonal-related items.

Over the weekend Joanne certainly brought Easter to life.

She said: “It is not as big as I have been doing in past Easters and not as big as Christmas, but it is still great to decorate the house.

“It is normal for the kids walking by our house now, as we are on a busy street, I use any excuse to decorate.”

Joanne has decorated her home inside and out, with items such as a ten foot hot air balloon with a bunny, signs of the front gates, alongside a few Easter-related items indoors too.

She also gave out eggs to children who came along to see the house at Easter.

Joanne said: “It was lovely, it really was.

“I was asking if people wanted to come up, take some pictures with the bunny and get a hidden treat.

“I was watching them through my window, and they loved it, about 50 children came along in the end.

“Everyone is really grateful I think.

“People often say thank you to me when they see me out and about and always ask what I am doing for the holidays coming up, they all really enjoy the occasion.”

Joanne is now planning to decorate for the upcoming Queen’s platinum jubilee weekend in June... and then Halloween.

She said: “We will be decorating for the Jubilee, and after this, for Halloween.

“Halloween will be massive, and last year about 200 kids turned up, so I hope for something like that again.

“They drive here from the all-around the surrounding villages to come and see the decorations, and I am really looking forward to doing it again.”
