A SINGING icon has praised a company for providing aid to Ukraine.

The McKenzie Arnold Group, based in Faulkbourne, near Witham, has been providing aid for the war-torn country and its work has not gone unnoticed as staff received a message of praise from music legend Sir Rod Stewart.

The company has undertaken its ninth delivery of aid to the Polish-Ukraine border as it continues to give vital support to the ever-growing list of refugees.

It has been working with Polish communities in the UK, who are providing a large proportion of the supplies, to ensure the deliveries include what is needed.

The team also spent a day ferrying families from the border to reception areas so they could be cared for.

Sir Rod sent a personal video message of support. He said: “Well done, for getting out there and helping. I’ve sponsored four trucks that are in Germany at the minute, and they will meet you in Poland. Well done son, I’m proud of you.”
