JON Brady urged his Northampton Town side to 'keep driving forward' following their 3-0 triumph over Colchester United.

The Cobblers claimed victory at Sixfields, thanks to goals from Fraser Horsfall, Sam Hoskins and substitute Benny Ashley-Seal.

Northampton moved up to third spot and into the automatic promotion places, in League Two while Colchester are three points above the relegation zone.

Brady told the Northampton website: “I’m very pleased overall.

“We had a little ten minute blip in the second half where we lost control a little bit but we made some changes, locked the game off and got a third goal at the end.

“We’ve done a lot of work on committing players on the ball, it was excellent work for the second goal and it was just rewards for Sam and all the hard work he puts in for the team.

“Benny trains very well and I’d just like to see from him a performance that shows us and the crowd that he can do what he does in training in a match.

"The whole group were really pleased for him to get that goal, he’s been through a tough period and that is a good moment for him.

“We are a strong side from set pieces but we’ve shown today that we can score from open play and hopefully that can continue.

"Even before Sam’s goal we had two cleared off the line from open play and it’s just good to see us get three goals on the board.

“We work from front to back, I think the back line have been really pleased with the work that the forward line and the midfield put in and Liam Roberts has been exceptional.

“We can’t just pat ourselves on the back for today, we’ve got to keep driving forward, that’s part of our DNA and it’s on to our next game.”
