LEYTON Orient have confirmed that the Metropolitan Police have not charged the spectator accused of alleged racism during the hosts' game with Colchester United, on Saturday afternoon.

The Metropolitan Police had been investigating after a report of alleged racist abuse aimed at forward Corie Andrews had been made during their 1-0 win at Brisbane Road.

The alleged incident was reported to have taken place seconds after Andrews was substituted in the 80th minute of the League Two clash.

And Leyton Orient confirmed that a supporter had been arrested, following the incident.

The O's have now confirmed that no charge will be taken, against the accused spectator.

However, they say they will continue to assist the Metropolitan Police, in their 'ongoing investigation'.

In a statement issued tonight, Leyton Orient said: 'The Club has today received confirmation that the alleged racism incident at our home game versus Colchester United on Saturday 5th February has resulted in no charge being taken by the Metropolitan Police against the accused spectator.

'The Club will continue to assist the Metropolitan Police in their ongoing investigation.

'We have written to the spectator advising that there will be no suspension of their Season Card.

'We have informed Colchester United of this outcome. We will make no further comment at this stage.'
