ROBBIE Stockdale admits his Rochdale side need to start turning draws into wins following their point at Colchester United.

The U's shared a 1-1 draw with Dale at the JobServe Community Stadium, a result that extended both sides' respective unbeaten records to three games.

Conor Grant cancelled out Alan Judge's magnificent strike for Colchester, to salvage an away point for Rochdale.

The result leaves Dale three points above Colchester in the League Two table.

Stockdale said: "I'll take the positives out of three games unbeaten but I'd rather win two and lose one to be honest, with the points on the board.

"But it means that we're very competitive.

"I think we're a good team but we need to show it.

"We need to start winning these games, I'm fully aware of that and we're working really hard to do it.

“Credit to the boys – that’s three unbeaten.

“I think in all three games, we should have got more points and I’m putting it on all of us to find a solution.

“The game lacked quality and the right decision making.

“I felt in three quarters of the pitch in the first half we were good but I didn’t enjoy us at all in the final third.

“Any moment where we could build a bit of momentum, it fizzled out.

“We wanted to be exciting but we weren’t and it took us to go 1-0 down to get that into our game.

Gazette:

"It took a top-class strike from them to go into the lead and we worked our way back into it.

“After we went 1-0 down, I thought for ten minutes we had a mental wobble.

“We looked a bit shot of confidence then but after that I was pleased and we got control of the game again.

“We changed formation a bit and we were probably the team that was going to win it, after it went to 1-1."

Grant finished well from close range to salvage Rochdale a point, with 14 minutes remaining.

Stockdale added: "Conor's got fantastic ability - he just needs to believe in himself a little bit more and shoot.

"It's about taking that responsibility to get your shots away and it's the same with others.

"These players have got bags of potential but if you look at the stats for assists and goals this season, it needs to improve and that's what we've challenged them."
